Speak Out at the Open Mic on Local Law Enforcement!


Thanks to the tireless efforts of the Humboldt County Human Rights Commission, the Supervisors' Chambers (Humboldt County Courthouse) is hosting an OPEN MIC ON LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT.

This event is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, December 4th, 5:00 p.m., 825 5th Street in Downtown Eureka.

Your local Redwood Chapter, ACLU will be making a brief presentation concerning police review and accountability measures we support. Other concerned community groups such as the HRC and law enforcement agencies will also make brief remarks, followed by an open mic to allow any member of the public to stand up and make their voice heard.

Redwood ACLU Board Meeting Thursday November 15th Noon

The Board of Directors of the Redwood Chapter, ACLU will meet Thursday, November 15th at 12:00 p.m. at the ACLU office at 917 Third Street, Suite Q (between J & K Streets) in Eureka.

The agenda will include seating of Board of Directors members Greg Allen, Charles Douglas, Greg Geist, Maria Hershey, Shunka Waylan and Minerva Williams; election of Redwood Chapter officers for the coming year; review of the recent Annual Meeting and Patriot Award Gala; consider plans for the next Chapter Newsletter in January 2008; reports from Chapter officers and committees; consideration of the request by the Voter Confidence Committee for support of a policy to require the use of hand-counted paper ballots in Humboldt County elections; review of ACLU Arts Alive! events; and consideration of other items which Boardmembers or at-large members may bring up.
